Speaker Dirk Schwede

Dr. Dirk Schwede is managing director of energydesign asia – Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH and its subsidiary energydesign (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., both companies in the Technology and Innovation Network of Prof. Dr.-Ing. M.N. Fisch. Dr. Schwede is currently located in Shanghai, China and is working as a design specialist consultant and researcher for energy-efficient, comfortable and sustainable building design in Asia and other regions with tropical climate. He has over 15 years work and research experience in Germany, Australia and China. He has been teaching at Tongji University in Shanghai and Deakin University in Australia. He has been working as external expert in the field of energy-efficient building for the GTZ in projects in India, Pakistan and Ukraine. Currently he is working with an interdisciplinary group of researchers in the MegaCity project on climate change adaptation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as expert for energy-efficient and sustainable design. He is holding a degree in building engineering from Stuttgart University in Germany and a PhD from The University of Sydney in Australia.
