Carbon Credit Origination Manager, EDF Trading
Currently in charge of carbon credit origination at EDF Trading for the South East Asian market where he has originated and is actively managing over 25 primary CDM projects (in technologies such as biomass, wind power, hydropower, wastewater, solid waste management, etc.), in 7 different countries. He is also responsible for carbon credit activities related to the Japanese market which includes CER sales and swaps.
Previously worked for Mitsubishi UFJ Securities in CDM/JI project origination and consultancy. Furthermore, was involved in the production of baseline studies and new methodologies for greenhouse gas abatement projects. The principle author for 15 CDM / JI Project Design Documents (PDD) as well as 3 baseline / monitoring methodologies. Worked on projects in technologies such as renewable energy, fugitive GHG emission avoidance, energy efficiency, waste management, and CO2 Capture & Storage (CCS).
Upon graduating with a first class honours degree in Multidisciplinary Science from Curtin University, Western Australia, was selected for a Japanese Ministry of Education Postgraduate Award Scholarship, moved to Japan and completed a Ph.D. at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. Author of numerous publications in international journals and magazines as well as an invited speaker at carbon conferences and forums around the world.
