Introduction

Vietnam’s future development is very much dependent on continued trade and investment, in particular in the infrastructure sector. However, environmental concerns are becoming more pressing as the country develops, and solutions to make future development sustainable are needed. Therefore, EuroCham has partnered with the European business associations, diplomatic missions and company representatives to organize GREEN-BIZ 2009.

GREEN-BIZ 2009 will be Vietnam’s premier event showcasing European solutions to Vietnam’s development challenges with particular focus on the energy, water, transport and construction sectors. The event will have both a conference and an exhibition part, and is being shaped with a comprehensive and unique structure bringing together the key figures from the European and Vietnamese business communities, government, academia, consultancies and financing institutions to present possible options and develop common solutions for Vietnam. The event will provide the different stakeholders with the ability to discuss partnering, business deals, licensing and funding needs, with a view to meeting Vietnam’s demands both today and tomorrow while paving the way for a sustainable future.

In order to assure that the event is suited to Vietnamese needs and to guarantee an exceptional representation of key decision makers from both government and business, we will work closely with our Vietnamese partners including the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment (MONROE), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the Ministry of Construction,, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the State Pricing Committee (energy prices) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
