Speaker Nguyen A Chau

Mr Chau is founder and managing director of OneStep Viet Co., Limited, and CSR Law Database (www.csr.vn) since 2006.

Mr. Nguyen A Chau has almost 10 years of professional experiences in both social compliance monitoring as well as sustainability advisory services at manufacturers in Vietnam, China, Laos and Cambodia. Mr. Chau gained his excellent monitoring and advisory experiences from professional firms such as CSCC (Cal Safety Compliance Corporation) a US based consulting firm, PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), and Nike Inc Vietnam.

In 2006, Mr. Chau was selected as National Improvement Consultant (Vietnam) for FIP (Factory Improvement Programme) of the ILO in 2006 and 2008.The Factory Improvement Programme (FIP), developed by the International Labor Organization, is a hands-on training programme that combines workshop training with individual in-factory consultations.
FIP helps factories:

• Improve quality, often reducing defect rates by more than 50%.

• Boost productivity from people, materials and energy.

• Improve labor practices and compliance with national standards.

• Establish a healthy and safe workplace.

• Create a collaborative workplace culture.

In 2007, he was appointed by Tetrapak Vietnam (the carton packaging company) in conducting the environmental education programs at more than 100 schools in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the project of Tetra Pak Vietnam associated with HCM Bureau of Education launching “Together Protect Our Environment” program at 100 primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

Chau was assigned as project leader in providing training and assistances to the pupils in upgrading their awareness and knowledge in protection environment though collecting carton beverages containers for recycle.

He has been working with several Brands, Companies and NGOs in developing sustainable Corporate Responsibility (CR) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at factories in Vietnam and China.

He also obtains SA8000 Certificate for Lead Auditor and ISO 9001 Certification Auditor on Quality Management System and Health & Safety consulting and Root Cause Analysis for problem solving.

Chau is an approved national consultant and trainer for Adidas, H&M, ILO, Levi’s, Nike, Nautica (VF), FLA, and other Brands and companies.
