Mr.VU KIM QUYEN

Mr. Vu Kim Quyen has been working on the water and sanitation sector for more than 30 years both for the Government of Vietnam and then as leaders of national and regional water associations. While being General Director of National Water Supply and Sanitation Project Management Unit under the Ministry of Construction, he managed, negotiated and arranged for the implementation of various ODA funded water supply and sanitation projects.
With the position of Vice Chairman, General Secretary of Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, has launched a lot of initiatives and led many efforts on studies on institutional reforms of water and sanitation sector in Vietnam, human resources development for water and sanitation sector, national water tariffs, a united sanitation sector strategy and action plan… In addition, he has been the Manager of the Capacity Building Project for urban water and sanitation sector in Vietnam, Support to National Advocacy, Communication and Human Resources Development for Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation in Vietnam, Benchmarking Program – Urban Water Supply in Vietnam.
Furthermore, he has laid the foundation and successfully managed the establishment of the Southeast Asian Water Utilities Network. Being one of the Board members and Executive Director of the Network, he has made great contribution to the development of SEAWUN and led all the activities programs of the Network, including among others, the Benchmarking Program for South East Asian Water Utilities phase 1 and 2, Knowledge management and capacity building, Twinning Program among SEA water utilities, Study on Water losses on the household connections, Training and Human resources development…. He has been the event manager of series of water events both at national and regional levels. With all his contribution and achievements, he has been given the Honorable Award on Excellent Management on Water Sector in Southeast Asia at the Asia Water Forum in 2006. |
