Ashok is a chartered accountant by training and has been in the banking industry for over 25 years with assignments in London, India and Zambia.
Ashok joined Standard Chartered Bank in 1998 and spent seven years leading the Wholesale Banking business in India, as the Regional Head of Wholesale Banking for India and Nepal. In this role, Ashok was involved in several project finance deals in line with the Bank’s policy of following the Equator Principles.
In Vietnam, Ashok is currently responsible for driving the Bank’s franchise as well as its strategic agenda. Ashok has held the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Business Forum’s Banking Working Group, representing all international banks in Vietnam. He is also currently the Vice-Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam.
