Dear Mr. Alain Cany,
At the outset, I would like to thank you, the Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), for your active contributions to the promotion of the trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the ED as well as your support in providing the policy advice and management training for the Vietnamese Government
andbusiness community.
I highly appreciate and welcome the GREEN-BIZ 2009 to be co-hosted by the EuroCham and VCCI. This is an important international event, which is supported by various European Governments. GREEN-BIZ 2009 will be attended by the ED and Vietnam business communities. The Exhibition as well as the conference will focus on the priorities in the socio-economic development policy of Vietnam such as environmental protection, climate change and energy saving. The Government of Vietnam welcomes and encourages the exchange of contacts and experiences as well as cooperation in research and development of green technology between Vietnam and key players, including ED partners. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs therefore undertakes to support and work closely with EuroCham and VCCI to make sure that GREEN-BIZ 2009 will be successful.
As you may know, the ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting will take place in Hanoi from 24 to 25 May 2009. At this Meeting, climate change and how to enhance cooperation between policy makers, scientists and businesses to effectively respond to the issue will also be extensively discussed. Therefore, I believe that GREEN-BIZ 2009 will be a concrete step to promote the Vietnam- ED cooperation on this important matter.
Finally, I wish you health and many successes in your important position.
Sincerely,
PHAM GIA KHIEM
