Nguyen Vinh Long joined Unilever Vietnam as its Project Engineer in 1997 and has held various positions in manufacturing field in the company, including Project Manager, Chief Engineer, Manufacturing Director before he was promoted in 2008 to be Vice President in charge of Manufacturing for Unilever Vietnam.
Before joining Unilever Vietnam, Nguyen Vinh Long worked as Chief Maintenance Engineer at P/S, a toothpaste manufacturing company which was later acquired by Unilever Vietnam.
Nguyen Vinh Long graduated from the Koethen Technical University in Germany under government scholarship in 1993, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
In his capacity, Nguyen Vinh Long has played a key role in Unilever Vietnam’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives involving (i) providing training and guidance; (ii) monitoring and auditing all manufacturing activities, including those by third party manufacturers (local SMEs) with regard to environmental standards; practise for labour and business conduct.
Some of his specific projects include: at Unilever Vietnam’s Cu Chi factory in Ho Chi Minh city for waste water treatment; waste reduction; solar water heater to replace oil fired heater; waste recycling project ( non-hazardous sludge to be used for making fertilizers); water conservation project (treating waste water to Grade A for use of cleaning and irrigation); waste water treatment plant in Huong Viet and Thu Duc factory (our third party – 3P - manufacturers) and various energy saving projects for Unilever Vietnam’s own factory and 3P factories
Nguyen Vinh Long lives with his wife and 2 children in Ho Chi Minh city. He likes reading, watching TV and playing tennis.
