Prakash Chandran is the Executive Vice President and Head of Siemens Energy Sector ASEAN. Dynamic, influential and a significant leader in his chosen field, Prakash is a successful business group manager with extensive experience and established network in Power and Oil and Gas. 

A certified Professional engineer by Engineers Australia, he made his entry to a flourishing career in Energy after obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (Electrical Engineering) with a First Class Distinction from the University of Kerala in 1985.  

Equipped with over 24 years of experience, his interest in the development and deployment of Green Technology in Malaysia was reflected through various business models and partaking actively in prided national projects. This passion granted him his post as Siemens Malaysia’s Senior Vice President in Power Transmission and Distribution in 2004. A capable team leader with excellent interpersonal skills and strong performance management capabilities, his latest achievement includes being appointed to lead the Energy Sector for ASEAN, an Executive Management position that oversees 10 countries in the Region. He is responsible for the implementation of the ASEAN Integration Methodology Organizational Model for ASEAN Energy Sector at Siemens.

Apart from being credited to developing local value creation through dedicated engineering, secondary amalgamation teams and market success in Power Transmission and Distribution projects, Prakash Chandran was also widely applauded for his achievement for sustaining an average growth in sales of more than 30% per annum, and for achieving continuous EBIT (Earning Before Income Tax) improvement. As passionate as he is about his business, Prakash Chandran also has a keen interest in music and theater, influenced by the rich culture and tradition of India, where he was born in 1963.
